When the summer holidays have started, the kids have finished school, your holiday is booked, and your suitcase is packed... who can you trust you water your plants? This is where polytunnel irrigation comes into play.

When the sun comes out to play, gardeners and sun lovers come out in force. But for some sun-loving gardeners, the idea of growing in a polytunnel can lead to a quandary.

One customer recently asked: “Unusual possibly, but can you still get sunburn whilst working in a polytunnel? My wife might ask, will she gain the benefit of a ‘tan’ while working in a polytunnel? Sorry if this appears somewhat trivial, however a tan can be considered one benefit of working ‘outdoors’, I guess”.

A common myth about polytunnel covers is that you need to wait for a warm day or until summer before fitting them.

However, the most popular time of year for the sale of replacement polytunnel covers and for covering a polytunnel is in the run up to and during spring when the British weather can still be very cold.

2015 is the Year of the Sheep.

Many sheep farmers will be finalising their preparations for the forthcoming busy lambing season, while others will be starting to put plans in place now that the New Year has arrived.

Premier Polytunnels is now closed for the Christmas holidays and will re-open on Friday 2nd January 2015.

The ‘Premier’ team would like to thank everyone for their support throughout 2014 – it has been a great year which saw the launch of our new website and welcomed new members to the team.

We have more exciting plans for 2015 which we can’t wait to share with you!
