Which Cover is right for you?
Choose from a Thermal Anti Drip polythene cover or a Net Polytunnel Cover.
Here at Premier Polytunnels we sell a clear Thermal Anti Drip polythene cover as standard. This is a 720 gauge/180 micron polythene film with a 5-year warranty against UV degradation and is the preferred cover of UK growers - supplied as standard with our commercial polytunnels.
Our Thermal Anti Drip film is the first sold in the UK that includes 5-layer co-extrusion technology. This 5-layer, 21st Century technology allows special chemical additives within the film to be divided more evenly throughout the layers, therefore reducing the effect of each additive upon the others and making for a more efficient polytunnel cover. These special additives help to greatly reduce many fungal and bacterial diseases that can damage plants.
The air inside a polytunnel has a high moisture content, causing water to evaporate and form droplets on the inside of the cover. Anti Drip additives within the film prevent large droplets forming and dropping back onto the plants, causing damage and disease to them.
The Thermal effect of the film prevents heat radiation being lost from the polytunnel, therefore maintaining a higher foliage temperature and drier plants, and leading to lower heating costs.
This film uses mineral additives to diffuse the light entering the polytunnel, ensuring that some light will make its way into the central and more shaded areas of the plants.
The film also includes Anti Dust additives on the outside layer, making it more difficult for dust to remain on the polythene and making it easier for the wind, rain, and your cleaning efforts to remove any accumulated dust from the polytunnel.

This polytunnel is supplied as standard with a Triple Ridge Kit, providing essential longitudinal strength for this large structure.
A Crop Bar Kit is also available, offering further reinforcement along with added growing options.
These extra ridge bars are placed on each side of the polytunnel's curved roof and run down the full length of the tunnel, exactly the same as the centre ridge which is supplied as standard. This Triple Ridge option adds further longitudinal strength to the structure. These side ridge bars are also suitable to be used for supporting hanging baskets, canes, etc, therefore positioning the baskets over the growing area and out of the way of paths.
These extra ridge bars can be positioned to suit your individual requirements, such as to avoid Crop Bars.
These galvanised steel bars are placed horizontally across each of the intermediate polytunnel hoops above head height. They can be used to support hanging baskets, canes, shade net, lighting, irrigation, and many other uses. A further beneficial side effect of crop bars is added strength and stability to the polytunnel structure in extreme weather conditions, particularly on blustery and exposed sites.
These crop bars have additional supports up to the hoops.

This polytunnel is supplied as standard with a Timber Base Rail Kit. If you’d prefer an alternative, an Aluminium Base Rail Kit is also available.
A timber base rail simply clamps around the base of the polytunnel framework, therefore doing away with the need for digging a trench and allowing the polythene cover to be simply fixed to this rail. Base rails are adjustable to allow for cover tensioning.
Anchor Plates or Base Plates are a MUST when using this method of fixing to prevent the polytunnel framework from lifting.
Timber base rails are pressure treated with a wood preserver to protect against rot and the cover is fixed simply by using timber battens and nails.
An aluminium base rail simply clamps around the base of the polytunnel frame, therefore doing away with the need for digging a trench and allowing the polythene cover to be simply fixed to this rail. Base rails are adjustable to allow for cover tensioning.
The polythene is trapped into the aluminium with PVC infills which can be easily removed and reused should the polythene need re-adjusting or when the time comes to re-cover the polytunnel.

AAdd side ventilation to your polytunnel with a Timber or Aluminium Side Rail Kit. We also supply a polythene Ventilation Screen, allowing you to cover the side ventilation netting during colder months. We also supply a bespoke Polytunnel Guttering system, designed to be used in conjunction with a side rail.
Timber side rails are exactly the same as base rails, but these rails are placed around the polytunnel framework at the top of the straight sides. This allows for net ventilation (supplied by Premier Polytunnels) to be placed between the side rail and the ground/base rail, with the main polythene cover stopping at the side rail. Side rails can be fitted along one side only or both sides.

When nature needs a little help, a polythene ventilation screen puts you in control, allowing you to create the environment which best suits your plants all year round.
The side ventilation (incorporated in our Side Rail kits) sometimes used on a polytunnel is not always required, especially in the colder months. To protect young or tender plants from frost damage or to maintain heat from an artificial source, it is often necessary to screen off the net ventilation.
Here at Premier Polytunnels we have designed a simple to use polythene screen which is rolled down over the side ventilation net. The ventilation can be screened off fully or partially, or can be left completely open depending on the amount of ventilation required.
A low ratio gearbox allows you to roll the screen up or down in seconds with the use of a simple handle that requires little effort. Operated from the inside of the polytunnel where the screen runs between the hoops and ventilation net.
This kit is a ventilation screen only, designed to be used in conjunction with a Timber or Aluminium Side Rail kit.
Base rails are recommended when purchasing Ventilation Screen kits.
Here it is... the solution to collecting rainwater from your polytunnel.
With more than 35 years experience in the horticultural industry, we have used our expertise to bring you a water collection system for your polytunnel.
Designed in-house by our highly skilled and experienced team, and integrated into our polytunnel design, these gutters are designed to be used in conjunction with our timber or aluminium side rails. On aluminium side rails the gutters simply slot into place on either one or both sides of the tunnel. For fitting to timber side rails, a gutter carrier is screwed to the timber rails and the gutters simply slot into place. A stop end slots into the gutter at one end or, if you prefer, you can position the stop end at any point along the gutter and collect water at each end of your tunnel.
Long-lasting and aesthetically pleasing, our polytunnel gutters require no maintenance other than clearing them of debris occasionally.
Collecting rainwater is an easy, cost effective way of ensuring you can always keep watering.

Choose between our Overhead Irrigation Kit, a manually operated watering system, or our Premier Irrigation Kit, which includes a tap timer for automatic watering of your crops.
An overhead watering system is a simple and effective method of bringing water to your polytunnel, ensuring that the plants you have tended and nurtured receive just the right amount of water.
It is essential to consider the water supply and water pressure when irrigating large areas, therefore Premier Polytunnels have used their expertise to design systems that you can rely on.
A polythene pipe fits to the roof of your polytunnel with sprinklers on drop tubes placed at approximately every hoop along the length, ensuring full coverage and avoiding dry spots. The pipe continues down the door post where it is connected to a garden hose.
6ft – 8ft – 10ft – 12ft Wide Polytunnels
Supplied with a single central irrigation line – the ideal way to water garden polytunnels up to and including 12ft wide.
14ft – 16ft – 18ft – 21ft – 24ft Wide Polytunnels
Two irrigation lines run along the length of the tunnel, ensuring full coverage right up to the edge. The feeder pipe is suspended on two galvanised straining wires for added support.
27ft and 30ft Wide Polytunnels
Three irrigation lines run along the length of the polytunnel, ensuring full coverage right up to the edge.
The use of control valves allows you to make the best use of your water supply (which can vary from town to town and often month to month) and avoids waste by not watering unused zones.
Our Premier Irrigation kits are identical to our standard Overhead Irrigation kits, but are supplied with an adjustable pressure regulator, for those areas where water pressure is high.
The Premier kits also include a top of the range Galcon battery operated tap timer, doing away with the need for a watering can or even the presence of a person!
A hole punch is also supplied to make the correct size of hole in the low density pipe into which the Drop Pipes and Sprinklers fit.
With a Premier Irrigation kit you can go out to work or on holiday safe in the knowledge that the plants you have tended and nurtured will still regularly receive the right amount of water.

Hoops & Foundations
The polytunnel hoops and foundation tubes are manufactured with 60mm diameter Z35 high tensile galvanised steel.
Due to the size of this structure, the foundation tubes must be concreted in position when building on a soil/diggable base.
Triple Ridge
Three ridges - manufactured with 38mm diameter Z35 high tensile galvanised steel - run down the length of the roof, attached to the underside of the hoops.
One ridge is set in the centre, with the others positioned either side of the curved roof, adding essential longitudinal strength to this large structure.
Corner & Roof Stabilisers
Diagonal corner stabilisers are supplied at each corner and are manufactured from 38mm diameter Z35 high tensile galvanised steel.
Roof stabilisers are also supplied at each end and are also manufactured from 38mm diameter steel.
Double Hinged Doors
Supplied as standard with an outer and inner timber door frame, with double hinged doors at each end of the polytunnel. The door opening is 8ft wide, and the doors and side panels are covered with polythene.
Two lintel stabilisers, manufactured from 38mm diameter Z35 high tensile galvanised steel, are also supplied at each end - These angle down from the second hoop to the timber door frame lintel.
Timber Base Rails
Supplied with a full Timber Base Rail Kit for fitting the polytunnel cover at ground level. Base rails are adjustable to allow for cover tensioning.
Anti Hot Spot Tape
Anti Hot Spot Tape is a self-adhesive foam tape that is placed on the steel hoops, helping to prolong the life of the polythene cover by preventing cover degradation from friction and the built up heat on the frame.
Thermal Anti Drip Polythene Cover
A Thermal Anti Drip polythene cover (the preferred cover of UK growers) is supplied as standard. This is a 720 gauge/180 micron polythene film with a 5-year warranty against UV degradation.
Advice & Guides
How to build
Your Polytunnel
One of the most common questions we are asked by our customers is: "Will I be able to construct my own polytunnel?"
The answer is yes, you will! Building a polytunnel really is a two person job, so why not invite a friend to join you and get stuck in.
