Our Thermal Anti Drip film is the first sold in the UK that includes 5-layer co-extrusion technology. This 5-layer, 21st Century technology allows special chemical additives within the film to be divided more evenly throughout the layers, therefore reducing the effect of each additive upon the others and making for a more efficient polytunnel cover. Originally designed and developed by our very own Martin Wood, senior designer and developer, anchor plates have been successfully used for many years and have proven to be a much simpler method of securing polytunnels into the ground than the use of concrete. For garden polytunnels, these plates clamp to the base of each foundation tube in a 12-inch hole, while the larger plates used for commercial polytunnels are fitted in a 16-inch hole. The holes would be dug just as for concreting. When earth is compacted back over the plates, this prevents the polytunnel framework from lifting or sinking, even in the most severe weather conditions.
Anchor plates MUST be used when purchasing base rails and are advisable to be used even when trenching the polythene cover in soil as this prevents the framework from sinking and the cover becoming loose.
Anchor plates have been updated at Premier Polytunnels to include an offset hole to allow easier fitting when the foundation tube cannot be placed central in the hole, for example, when avoiding walls, paths, and underground obstruction.

To protect young or tender plants from frost damage or to maintain heat from an artificial source, it is often necessary to screen off the net ventilation.
Here at Premier Polytunnels we have designed a simple to use polythene screen which is rolled down over the side ventilation net. The ventilation can be screened off fully or partially, or can be left completely open depending on the amount of ventilation required.

This black, heavy-duty UVI ground cover acts as an effective weed control with less than 0.5% light transmission, while still allowing water to be easily dispersed through into the ground without collecting in puddles. Premier Polytunnels use 100gsm ground cover – 10% thicker than most other ground covers. This ground cover is strong and tear resistant, easy to clean, and has grid lines for accurate pot spacing. The inclusion of UV stabilisers allows for a long effective life.

Hoops & Ridge
The polytunnel hoops and foundation tubes are manufactured with 38mm diameter Z35 high tensile galvanised steel. Also included is a 28mm diameter steel ridge which runs straight down the centre of the polytunnel roof, attached to the underside of the hoops.
Corner Stabilisers
Diagonal corner stabilisers are supplied at each corner and are manufactured from 28mm diameter Z35 high tensile galvanised steel.
Door Rails
Door rails are supplied at each end of the polytunnel and are manufactured from 28mm diameter Z35 high tensile galvanised steel.
Door & Dummy Door
Supplied as standard with a timber door frame and single hinged door up-to-2ft 8in wide at the front, plus a timber end frame with a dummy door at the rear. Both the door and dummy door are supplied with a top panel of ventilation net and lower panel of polythene.
Anti Hot Spot Tape
Anti Hot Spot Tape is a self-adhesive foam tape that is placed on the steel hoops, helping to prolong the life of the polythene cover by preventing cover degradation from friction and the built up heat on the frame.
Thermal Anti Drip Polythene Cover
A Thermal Anti Drip polythene cover (the preferred cover of UK growers) is supplied as standard. This is a 600 gauge/150 micron polythene film with a 4-year warranty against UV degradation.
