Premier Polytunnels Blog

When you make the decision to invest in a polytunnel, you want to be confident that the structure will stand the test of time, especially during a harsh British winter.

It is no surprise, therefore, that our customers often ask “will I be able to construct my polytunnel?”

In most cases the answer is yes, you will. Most of our polytunnels are supplied on a DIY basis and we are confident that our simple design will allow a polytunnel novice, with minimal DIY skills, to build their polytunnel without any problems.

Although a polytunnel is not a difficult structure to build, the task should not be thought of as a little project or like putting up a tent. Our director likes to compare it to “putting together giant meccano”.

To get a better idea of what is involved, why not check out the video below of a 10ft wide polytunnel being constructed, start to finish, by one of our customers.

We are delighted to tell you that our hometown of Barnoldswick has won a Gold Award in the 'Town' category of the North West In Bloom Awards. This is the fourth time the town has won a Gold!

Barnoldswick also won the 'Overall Best Town in the North West' Award.

But that’s not all... Barlick, as it is known locally, has also been chosen to represent the whole of the North West in the Britain in Bloom Awards!

Commercial PolytunnelThis is fantastic news and here at Premier Polytunnels we are delighted to have played a part in helping the town be the best in the North West! The members of Barnoldswick in Bloom group use the polytunnels on our show site for germination and cultivation; they raise flowers from seeds and spring bulbs for beds and hanging baskets around the town, and young plants potted up by local schoolchildren are also often tended in our polytunnels by the group.

The town’s success in the Awards acknowledges the achievements of many hours of volunteer work and dedication that the members of Barnoldswick in Bloom, businesses and residents of the town have shown throughout the year.

All of this work goes into ensuring that Barnoldswick is an attractive, special, friendly and popular place to live and visit. Premier Polytunnels welcome customers to visit our show site, see our polytunnels and meet the team.
